Careers at HOC
People who have dedicated their careers to this kind of work.
HOC's culture is built on the most passionate people in our industry — staff who respect Erika's legacy and have committed real years of their lives to the boys we serve. We are always recruiting. If that sounds like you, we want to know.
What we look for
Four things, in this order.
Trauma-informed practice
You know what trauma-informed means in real moments — not just in training slides. You can tell when a kid needs distance and when he needs presence.
Long-tenure commitment
You are not looking for a job to leave in a year. You want to know the boys. You want them to know you.
Calm in hard moments
You de-escalate without escalating. You stay regulated when a teen is not. You have patience as a skill, not a personality trait.
Respect for the legacy
You can see what Erika built and what we have continued. You take it seriously enough to keep it human.
Roles we hire for
Always recruiting. Sometimes urgently.
We don't always have a specific role posted in every category. But we are always meeting people. If you're a fit for one of the roles below, send us a note — we'll follow up even if there's no posted opening today.
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs)
Direct care, shift-based. Full-time and part-time. Day, evening, and overnight shifts. The heart of HOC and the most-recruited role.
Clinicians & therapists
Master’s level required, licensure preferred. Trauma-focused practice. Individual and group therapy.
Case managers
Care-team coordination, family engagement, treatment planning. Strong communication and documentation skills.
Educational staff
On-site instruction, IEP coordination, credit recovery. Missouri teaching certification preferred.
Recreational & enrichment staff
Skills-based: music, sports, outdoor leadership, mentoring. Part-time and seasonal welcome.
Operations & support
Admin, kitchen, household, maintenance. The team that makes everything else possible.
What we offer
A team you'll want to stay with.
Competitive pay for our region. Health, dental, and vision benefits for full-time staff. Paid time off and holiday coverage that respects the work you do. Training stipends. Career development for staff committed to a long-tenure path.
The thing most of our staff cite when they explain why they have stayed: the team itself. The peers you'll work with at HOC are some of the most experienced, most committed people in this region. Working with them is the benefit nobody else can advertise.
